Thu Oct 27 20:33:47 UTC 2016  <adlai>   sure, you can't send from p2sh using trb, but you can't generate a p2sh address using trb either, or import one, or... this is not a valid criticism of the method

Thu Oct 27 20:33:19 UTC 2016  <adlai>   and once it's in a block, trb will spend from it happily, like it will any other coin it sees in an output to one of its addresses

Thu Oct 27 20:32:56 UTC 2016  <adlai>   i'm quite certain that the cleaning procedure is overcomplicated, and you can send directly from p2sh to a trb-supplied p2pkh

Thu Oct 27 20:32:08 UTC 2016  <adlai>   kakobrekla: trb could 'validate' a block containing a p2sh spend which has the correct preimage, but the script itself doesn't validate; trb doesn't validate the preimage script. this could cause a 'fork', although trb would notice within a couple blocks that majority hashpower is rejecting that block

Thu Oct 27 20:29:16 UTC 2016  <adlai>   also, i feel stupid even saying this, but there's a difference between understanding how a gun fires, and encouraging people to use it

Thu Oct 27 20:28:16 UTC 2016  <asciilifeform>   and yes, incidentally funkenstein_ was right, it is possible to 'clean' a 3xxxx -> 1xxxx -> block -> trb presently.

Thu Oct 27 20:27:21 UTC 2016  <*>   adlai actually tried to explain this over in #t a while back

Thu Oct 27 20:27:03 UTC 2016  <adlai>   i'll have what asciilifeform is drinking... p2sh addresses look to trb like they're secured by a hash preimage script which existed in bitcoin since day zero. it won't get relayed, but it will validate in a block, and the outputs will be... whatever they are. if they're p2pkh outputs, ie regular 1xyvz addresses, trb should be able to spend them

Thu Oct 27 20:07:37 UTC 2016  <funkenstein_>   new block arrives -- contains a TX from 1axxxx to 1bxxxxx, 1axxxx is an output of a 3xxxx-->1axxxx tx much earlier

Thu Oct 27 20:06:34 UTC 2016  <kakobrekla>   how is this reveant if you are not a miner

Thu Oct 27 20:05:19 UTC 2016  <asciilifeform>   (trb, recall, does not accept tx that inter-depend on not-yet-in-a-block tx.)

Thu Oct 27 20:04:58 UTC 2016  <asciilifeform>   kakobrekla: it still validates based on what goes into a block

Thu Oct 27 19:56:14 UTC 2016  <funkenstein_>   for example a coin was bought on kraken

Thu Oct 27 19:55:19 UTC 2016  <asciilifeform>   nobody 'checks manually', wtf, a 1xxxx filled up via prb from a 3xxxxxx and no other tx history will simply show up as a 0.

Thu Oct 27 19:55:13 UTC 2016  <kakobrekla>   but i can see there is a lot of noise in our comms

Thu Oct 27 19:49:05 UTC 2016  <funkenstein_>   or perhaps 10 almost friends who all agree a tx appeared

Thu Oct 27 19:48:50 UTC 2016  <funkenstein_>   he has a friend who operates a node

Thu Oct 27 19:48:47 UTC 2016  <asciilifeform>   it has a function.

Thu Oct 27 19:48:07 UTC 2016  <funkenstein_>   he sends the buyer a transaction..

Thu Oct 27 19:47:18 UTC 2016  <funkenstein_>   without operating a node
