Sun Jul 19 21:00:12 UTC 2015 <mod6> <+mod6> so... yah, a bash script or removal by hand. would be fine i'd think. but now i gotta test it a bit harder. if we leave empty directories in there, im worred that patch might come along at a later time and be helpful again, removing those object output diretories. << so if i do remove them by hand, have to ensure that these empty dirs wont get nuked later on accident
Sun Jul 19 18:53:26 UTC 2015 <mod6> the only thing in the obj-test directory before applying that patch is '.gitignore' so why wouldn't it be removed like obj/test and obj/nogui?
Sun Jul 19 18:52:02 UTC 2015 <mod6> well, thats weird. it seems to remove obj/test and obj/nogui, but NOT obj-test which is left empty?!!?
Sun Jul 19 18:49:47 UTC 2015 <mod6> i might just be dumb. build a test env with http://dpaste.com/23VKWD8.txt and see if anyone can get the rm_gitignore.patch file to apply without removing the obj/test obj/nogui or obj-test dirrs

Sun Jul 19 18:36:45 UTC 2015 <mod6> ben reminded me to add a patch that removes the 5 .gitignore files. seems easy enough, so crated a quick patch, attempted to apply, worked fine -- I didn't notice that it blew away the directories as well though. : obj/test obj/nogui obj-test
Sun Jul 19 18:27:22 UTC 2015 <mod6> So this can be used as a test platform for all the patches, etc. . If you're really ambitious you can install gentoo as above ^^ then use this to pull down the v0.5.3.1 basecode and apply these patches: http://dpaste.com/23VKWD8.txt

Sun Jul 19 03:17:09 UTC 2015 <mod6> I don't see any ref's in the makefile to src/obj/test
Sun Jul 19 03:14:50 UTC 2015 <mod6> i guess src/obj-test needs to stay because of the test stubs & it's ref'd in the makefile. that's fine.
Sun Jul 19 03:13:30 UTC 2015 <mod6> after an actual test.
Sun Jul 19 03:12:22 UTC 2015 <mod6> does anyone see a reason to keep src/obj-test and src/obj/test ?
Sun Jul 19 01:08:50 UTC 2015 <ben_vulpes> pete_dushenski: you'd know better than i about the test drive. that's just how i got my butt in one.

Sun Jul 19 00:27:52 UTC 2015 <mod6> <+ascii_modem> http://log.bitcoin-assets.com/?date=18-07-2015#1205870 << wai wut - ?? - no one signed that he has read, tested - and straight to release? << I certainly did not mean to imply immediate release. Just that I'll build a test plan surrounding what i've indicated. Process is already underway.
Sun Jul 19 00:06:33 UTC 2015 <pete_dushenski> can't anyone take a test drive of a tesla model s ?
Sat Jul 18 21:35:51 UTC 2015 <mod6> i'm gonna need another box to test on anyway.
Sat Jul 18 21:35:43 UTC 2015 <mod6> one other thing I gotta do is update the gentoo-uclibc guide to a new guide for nomultilib glibc, should be fairly easy. then test it on my pos box.
Sat Jul 18 21:29:52 UTC 2015 <mod6> cool! thanks. yeah, we're gonna need as much help as we can get testing. and as soon as we have a solid test plan developed, then we'll cut a release candidate for testing.
Sat Jul 18 21:26:33 UTC 2015 <mod6> im workin on that test matrix now.
